"The word 'love' is a short and simple one, and yet it is so complex and diverse in meaning. So many fine and terrible things are done in its name, but what is it exactly? Is it a 'many-splendored thing'? Or does it bring more tragedy than joy? Is it a burden, a prison, an agony to be endured? It is all this things and more-unpredictable, wayward, uncertain. 'The course of true love never did run smooth', wrote Shakespeare. But in the end we might not be nearer knowing what love is. Perhaps only the answer lies in the words of Tagore, Indias's most famous poet: Love is an endless mistery, for it has nothing else to explain."
